Home for the Holidays

I’ve returned to TO for the Christmas holidays. It feels like home. On the way back from the airport Mum, Dad, and I picked up a Christmas tree from Ikea of all places. It’s a narrow little thing but does the trick. I spent most of today moving firewood into the basement and decorating the tree. Dad put up the lights outside and Mum did some inside decorations and such. It’s nice to put on the classic Christmas CDs and sing along. I love our tree because it’s like a museum of our lives. There are decorations that used to be on Dad’s tree when he was growing up and some from Mum’s tree and then there are the crappy little macaroni and tinfoil decorations that Hayley and I made when we were little that document our days in Brownies, Guides, nursery school and others. There are decorations that people have sent us from all of the over world and special ones from special friends. It’s really neat to look at all the decorations and remember their stories.
