Back in the Bay0

I’m back at school and this time I actually got on the plane! I was up really early though. I set my sister as an alarm…she was 7 minutes early I’d like to add. So I hit the snooze button (kicking her off my bed) and she came back after her shower.
My place is a mess though! How a can place that hasn’t been lived in get so dirty? And just like I thought, they didn’t change the windows. Good thing I didn’t hold my breath for that. But they did put in a permanent internet cable finally (I put the Work Order in last October to have it done). Better late than never. But then something in my apartment kept setting off the smoke detector and the building had to be evacuated 3 times in one day. They emptied my entire storage closet all over my living room to get at the electical panel and fix it. I had A LOT of stuff in there (including A LOT of Thomas’ stuff) but it wasn’t blocking the electrical panel. I think they just emptied it to get revenge. Either way, that was waiting for me when I showed up in the rain today. Not really welcoming. Plus I’m grocery-less. I don’t wanna go grocery shopping!!! I want my mommy!!!
I already have so much work to do. I have to get all this stuff ready for RA Training that starts next week plus fill out these forms and reports for my research grants. Margaret wants to meet next Monday to get the Northern Scientific Training Programme report done and the Social Economy conference in Victoria (which I just found I was accepted to) is requesting a full paper. A FULL PAPER?!? I haven’t even begun to look at my data. 5000 words due by last July 15th. When were they going to tell me that I needed to do this? It’s only because the conference coordinator emailed me and said,”What’s up with your paper?” (more or less) that I even knew I had been accepted! With all the summer vacations I think there’s been a serious breakdown in communication somewhere. But Margaret (my prof) was like, “Oh well you can probably whip off at least 2000 words this weekend using what you’ve got…” Right. I turned my brain off for summer vacation and it’s still booting up. It’s a PC so it’s taking extra long.
So I figured the best way to tackle all this work is to start by cleaning the bathroom and check my email thoroughly (for the 7th time today) and then post a blog. These are important things!! They have to get done right NOW! But my fridge will definitely need to be cleaned out before I get groceries and I’m pretty sure it’s time for laundry. You know, sheets or something. Only when those things have been completed will I be able to sit down and do some work. So much cleaning, so little time for work.
